o hey welcome back...been awhile since i've been around these parts.
so today my teacher announced some updates to the class's 12-15 page paper that is due thursday. it now only has to be 8-10 pages and is due next tuesday. thank god i already wrote 11 pages and was completely prepared to hand it in. when i finally motivate myself enough to do something ahead of time it gets turned around on me...what a smack in the face.
i had awesome food last weekend...virgil's and becco. yum yum yum. you two will be seeing me again. count on it.
cheers, kids.

all aboard the mega bus!
i have completed the trifecta of bus transportation to NYC -- chinatown, mega, and bolt. i will try to discuss the merits of each.
if you find yourself on the chinatown bus, then obviously you want to make the jump to lightspeed on the new jersey turnpike. by far the fastest of the 3 buses. i don't know if i'd say that the drivers are reckless, but they certainly don't give a shit about any of the other drivers on the road. you can't really beat the price either. $20 round trip is a bargain.
o, bolt bus, we could have been great friends...tickets are reasonably priced (about $13 each way because i bought it the day before). the buses are hella nice too. they have leather seats and power outlets too. real classy. and it had free wifi! too bad it wasn't working... but the thing is that it was really crowded. i'm not really a fan of that. i like having my own seat. not to mention, the driver threatened to charge everyone $15 if they had their bag on an empty seat next to them. bogus.
in my nearly 4 years of busing to and from NYC, mega bus was by far the most pleasant. first off, the bus was a double decker. that automatically scores it bonus points. naturally, i ventured up to the second tier. and there was a tinted sun roof that ran the length of the bus! so sweet! and the wifi WORKED! i had my own seat too. this was already making for a good ride. same price as the bolt bus and just as nice. there's an advantage. only down side is that there were no power outlets. good thing my macbook can survive a 2 hour trip on the battery, although i might have to invest in an extra one in the near future. but we shall see. anyways, the mega bus has won my allegiance thus far. i will sure be riding it again in a couple weeks. count on it.
bet you thought i was writing this on the bus didn't you? you probably didn't. o well. i'm actually wrapping up my day at work, and it's almost time to go.
cheers, mateys.

zooma zoom zoom!
based on that title, you might think of speed. or that i got a lot done. if you're really intuitive, you would have thought of scrubs. if you did think of scrubs, our friendship just got taken to the next level.
anyways, i've been sitting on my couch since 10 AM on friday. don't be silly, of course i slept in my bed. it took me 3 days of sitting and watching tv, but i finished one paper and have one page left on my other one. you might be asking yourself what i've been watching in the 36 hours or so that i've been in front of the TV. the answer is soccer. lots and lots of soccer. i can't get enough of it. it makes me realize how much i really miss playing it. i also watched a college football game. currently, i'm in the midst of a band of brothers marathon. in my opinion, it's the best mini-series out there. thank you, HBO.
this week is a big time for music. beatles rock band comes out...i've started messing around with some riffs, so we'll see where that goes...and most importantly, TSRJ comes roaring back this weekend...get it? roaring? raptor? roaring? i'm so clever.
all the best, kids.

like whoa
this semester is going to be loooong. lots of work is heading my way. lots. and lots. and lots. i've already written one paper for tuesday and wrote the first draft of my resume. now there's a 5-6 page paper on my plate on healthcare legislation due on thursday. i'll probably hop on that tonight. having three days off every week is going to be absolutely necessary for me to keep my sanity.
i really want to see Extract or Halloween II tonight, but world cup qualifiers are on all day tomorrow and i know i probably won't get much done in terms of schoolwork. guess we'll see what happens. i also need to start working on songs for next weekend.
it's going to be a long semester... i think.
verizon fios is the shiiiiiznat. i'm starting to abuse the free on demand stuff. o well.
cheers, kids.

new york, new york
i've been kinda lazy about this whole blog thing...i apologize.
i got back from an extended stay in new york a few days ago. quality times. hung out for a few days and played lots of videogames. absolutely nothing wrong with that.
the main reason for the trip was the blink 182 and weezer concert on long island. while we were in the nosebleeds, the view was ridiculous. the jones beach theater is pretty much right on top of the atlantic ocean, so the high seats gave us an incredible view. taking back sunday's "performance" isn't even worth mentioning. what happened to that band? they're definitely not a stadium/arena band. the two other times that i saw them were nothing short of awesome. i guess one significant line-up change (in combination with adam lazarra's ego) can really turn a band around.
i've never seen weezer before. i guess that fact that they literally played every one of their singles really boosted their set for me, not that their set would've been worse if they didn't. furthermore, rivers cuomo is hilarious. i could watch him run around the stage and listen to his running commentary all night.
on to blink 182. two things... 1) loved watching mark throw that panic! at the disco bass into the water... 2) why the hell didn't i see them with no doubt back in high school? stupid, stupid, STUPID!
after the show, the decision was made to come home at 1:00 AM...i can't say i've ever done that before. i am by no means a starbucks supporter, but i'll be damned if i really didn't want one of those mocha frappucinos. two rest stops later, i was still empty-handed. you figure that a company with as many locations as starbucks would have some open for 24 hours, especially at a REST STOP. i ended up getting a breakfast sandwich, a coke, and one of those good humor strawberry shortcake ice cream bars (or happiness on a popsicle stick). see how i covered all three meal bases there? to cap the night off, i walked in the door at 4:30 AM. good trip.

patience is a virtue
holy smokes! district 9 was the bee's knees.
cliff lee is tearing up the NL. heads up, october. we'll be seeing you soon. and while i'm on sports, i am awful at betting on games. a-w-f-u-l. furthermore, i'm going to follow soccer this year. i'm pulling for liverpool.
i like to think of myself as an individual with a great deal of patience. but after a summer of listening to whining and complaining on a daily basis, my patience has been pushed TO THE MAX (said like target lady). so, kids, today's lesson is brought to you by the letter "T"...for "Think twice before complaining/whining to me." i don't have time for bull shit anymore.
all the best, lads. cheers!
